Google will automatically enable two-step verification for 150 million users
Google’s purpose to regulate all the world information, both or worse, meaning that it also has information information, especially millions of people in the world. It makes it one if it’s not the biggest hacker target, and it has worked hard to make the security of bulletproof. Unfortunately, the weakest link in the security chain, in fact, Google users are the same as those who have tried by the company. Stepping the efforts, Google announced that it would turn on 2SV, sometimes called 2fa, for millions of users, whether they like it or not.
Verification of two steps (2SV) or authentication of two factors (2fa) has become the most common security measures driven to supplements rather than replacing passwords. It combines passwords (something you know) with several other elements (something you have), often smartphones that have an authenticator application installed or at least can receive a one-time PIN (OTP). This has become the first defense line in the light of a weak password, but, unfortunately, many people still feel uncomfortable.
Google has tried to convince people to activate 2SV for their Google account, but it seems that the company will now take problems in his own hands. It has begun to configure multiple accounts automatically to use 2SV and will ask the creator of YouTube to do the same. However, the bravest step is to register a 150 million Google account automatically into this 2SV system before 2021 ends.
It is not to say Google will do it blindly, because not all accounts are worth using 2SV. This will only allow it to accounts with the right backup mechanism, he said, it is very possible which has a telephone number associated with their Google account. Users are free to deactivate 2SV, of course, even though it might not be recommended from a security standpoint.
Google recognizes that the current 2SV option may not apply in all scenarios and say that it works on alternatives. Android phones, for example, now also serves as a security key, where one-tap authentication method can be used when entering several accounts.
