Panasonic’s BS1H is a box-style camera with a full-frame sensor
In 2020, Panasonic announced BGH1, the first-style camera box. The company takes four-thirds of Micro-thirds GH5S and replays them in a body that is more suitable for video production workload. It was almost exactly one year later, Panasonic had announced DC-BS1H. Like its predecessor, the latest release of this company takes the existing Panasonic camera, full frame, and places it in a new body.
In the heart of BS1H is a 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor that can capture recording up to 6K resolution. In particular, this is capable of recording 6K videos at up to 24 frames per second, 5.4k at 30 frames per second with plants 3: 2 and 5.9k at 30 frames per second with framing 16: 9. Panasonic claims the BS1H sensor displays more than 14 Dynamic range stops and the inclusion of both original ISO double low pass optical filters that help reduce the noise of moire and digital.
But if you see a box-style camera for yourself, you want it for additional connectivity options that promise the format. On the front, BS1H does not hump. In particular, this includes a USB 3.1 Type-C connection, type HDMI-A port and 3G series digital interface. It is also possible to connect 12 BS1H cameras together to make multi-camera settings. In addition, you will find a variety of 3.5mm and XLR microphone connections, above the LAN port. Oh, and come with a double SD card slot for worried free redundancy.
Panasonic will sell DC-BS1H for $ 3,500 when available in November.
