Why the best winter workout tech is a pair of over-ear waterproof headphones
In London, we were in the middle of the “wet” season. Every few months, more often if we are lucky, the sky is open for a week, and the city is bathed in a constant flood that washing dirt and dirt. This is not the type of weather you just raised your collar, and the umbrella won’t offer a lot of protection, either; Encourage cleaning up people as much as they do garbage.
As you can imagine, this kind of weather is not so ideal for someone who wrote columns about running – it’s hard to write about your running experience if you spend all your time curled up in a dressing dress playing dark soul 2.
I don’t mind rain, and I don’t mind wet. But the same thing cannot be said for my technology. I tried to avoid being trapped in rain because there was no enough rice in the world to dry all the gadgets that I brought every day (become a technology reporter).
But something new recently appeared for me to test: headphones over-ear project UA projects. They collaborate between JBL and under armor, and themed around Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, which I will test (and to see if they help me into animal mode, return to my column in two weeks of time to find out) .
These over-ear wireless headphones are ranked IPX4, so it can rain and sweat. However, the protection they provide from the element is not the only reason they helped me keep running in the wind and rain.
Put ‘Oof’ in ‘Waterproof’
Some technologies are expressed as waterproof, and some are not – and, obviously, I do not set it will depart on long jogging in the rain with any gadget that is likely to function on the first moisture sign. However, while some devices are technically waterproof (they will easily survive water sprinkling), others are more practical waterproof, which means they will continue to work almost in water when dry when dry.
Take, for example, SmartWatch. All models that are ongoing will probably be waterproof. However, while some will prove no problem at all to use when the screen is driven by water, or if your hands are sweating, on the other, humidity will cause the device to stop registering your friction with your level of accuracy.
