AT&T is reportedly One America News’ primary financial backer

Telecommunia has long been accused of trying to tilt politics, but new reports show AT & T may have been further than most. According to Verge, Reuters reported that AT & T was the main supporter for One America News Network (OAN), Youtube’s right-wing media outlet for a while was temporarily banned last November to spread the wrong information. While some TV providers carry channels, an oan accountant testified by 2020 that 90 percent of Oan’s parental herring network income, tens of millions of dollars, came through transactions with the AT & T-owned platform including DirecTV.

The founder of Oan Robert Herring separately testified that AT & T executives inspired him to launch the network in 2013 after seeing the media landscape with a relatively small conservative outlet. Court documents also indicate that the AT & T offered to buy 5 percent equity shares in OAN and herring lifestyle channels, even though both of them end up by choosing a different agreement.

Oan even claimed that one executive AT & T, Aaron Slatator, offered to put channels in DirecTV in exchange for lobbying for Merger 2014 Satellite Broadcasters. Herring family also said to meet FCC officials to talk about mergers and speak well at & t in news stories. AT & T has denied making offers related to the Slatator, and oan’s lawsuit that accused the violation of the agreement which should have caused AT & T to add OAN choices to DirecTV.

AT & T rejects claims of undue influence in response to Reuters and the threshold. Carrier states that DirecTV “does not determine the” channel programming, and the DirectV merger support is “never a term or part of the” Content Transport Agreement. In a Twitter statement, AT & T maintains it “never has financial interests” in oan and that the decision to bring the network is now in the hands of DirecTV.

Concerns, as you can imagine, is that AT & T may have contributed to the dissemination of incorrect information without being held such as online providers and other companies. Above Youtube suspended oan after violations of the wrong information rules Covid-19, dominion voter maker maker demanded network in August this year for election fraud claims that are not proven. If the report is accurate, there may be pressure on AT & T to distance themselves from OAN and focus more on essential services than politics.
