Arlo cameras now let Google Assistant speak when they detection movement

Google has just announced the availability of new smart cameras under the Smart Nest Home brand, but it was almost no only choice available on the market that was rather jammed. When it comes to security cameras and video door bells, the name Arlo is there, especially when it comes to integrating with the Google smart home platform. Once again showing its bond with Google, Arlo has just updated the movement’s detection system to allow hub nests and speakers or other Google assistant devices to inform homeowners when people or packages have been detected.

Smart home security cameras have evolved from being mere passive eyes that you have to check immediately to more reactive guards who can remind you when and where something happens. More often than not, this involves some motion sensing abilities, which trigger a warning sent to the user’s phone. Sometimes, the phone may not be achieved, potentially made you lose important events.

If you have a Google Assistant speaker or smart display at home, it will no longer be a problem. Arlo now opens the door to a connection with Google Assistant which will let the sound of intangible speaking when the Arlo camera detects movements in the field of view. In particular, Google Assistant will announce if the camera detects people, packages, animals, or vehicles, as configured in the Arlo application.

This bridge between Arlo and Google Assistant does have several warnings. For one, it only works with arlo, pro4 and essential series cameras. Naturally, you must have your ARLO account synchronized with Google Home and you have voice notifications enabled for Arlo cameras in the Google Home application. Arlo includes Google Home Mini, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, and Chromecast supported devices, but may also work with other smart speakers that function the same way.

Arlo notes that the notification settings in the Arlo application are reflected on the Google Assistant device, so if you issue a camera notification in the Arlo application, you will not hear anything from Google Assistant. The Video Arlo Door, unfortunately, does not support the announcement of this movement detection, but Doard Dedes was declared announced by Google Assistant.
