PS3 and PS Vita stores will no longer accept credit cards and PayPal
With the launch of the PlayStation 5, it is expected that Sony will eventually try to push the gaming system longer than the image. What almost happened this year, but the company stirred and allowed some respectable consoles to continue the status quo. It is not to say that they are willing to spend resources to maintain a good playstation system. It seems that the company has found a strategy to push PS3 and PS Vita to be obsolete by making it very difficult to buy games and DLC move forward.
Earlier this year, Sony announced his plan to close the online store for Playstation Portable, PlayStation 3, and Playstation Vita in the summer this year. After receiving a little counter-attack from the owner, the company retreated slightly and placed his plan for the death of PS3 and Vita on Hold. PSP was not so lucky, and the 16-year-old handheld console said goodbye to the Tokon last July.
Shops for PS3 and PS Vita will continue to operate for the future, at least until Sony makes other unpopular announcements, but it will make them almost unusable this month. Starting October 27, 2021, shops for this console will no longer receive credit or debit cards and paypal as payment options. This will affect not only the ability of the owner to buy digital and DLC games from the store but even add funds to the wallet.
However, it will still be possible to buy a game, but the owner of the console must do it by means of the roundabout. They can redeem the Playstation shop gift card to add their wallets, whichever they can buy it. They can also use cards and paypal but only from computers, cellular applications, or PS4 or PS5.
All of these methods assume that PS3 and Vita owners have easy access to these sources or devices, and it might not be true for all. However, the fact that Sony made such changes, however, had disturbed many PS3 and PS Vita owners, saw it as a company strategy to get what he wanted in the first place and closed the shops.
